Stephanie Buck, BCHN, CPM, LM
Stephanie Buck is a Certified Professional Midwife and Board Certified in Holistic Nutrition. She is a Filipino-American DMV native based in Southern Maryland. She is licensed to practice midwifery in Virginia, with Maryland pending.
Â
She is the founder of Southern Maryland Midwifery proudly serving Charles, St.Mary's and Calvert counties. As well as King George's county in Virginia.Â
Â
Her introduction to midwifery began in 2015 when she was supported by a midwife to help her through the devastating loss of her middle son. Directly following the birth she went back to school for a master's degree in holistic nutrition specifically for pregnancy. As well, she became a doula (certified by DONA) and then offered doula services in and out of hospital settings. Her calling continued as she started as a birth assistant for Birthcare and Women's Health. She valued the personalized comprehensive care the midwives provided.
These births fed Stephanie's curiosity to explore her family’s birth stories and the traditions practiced in the Philippines. She found Mercy in Action, who have multiple birth centers in the Philippines, and received her degree in midwifery through their college.

Stephanie's approach to maternal care is rooted in an integrative and functional perspective. She firmly believes that the body has incredible self-healing capabilities when provided with the right tools. Her expertise spans the entire birth cycle, from fertility and pregnancy to postpartum support.
